Lyndsay and I put “Fingernail Moon” together from some tracks that we did a while back. I really like the songs Lyndsay writes, and the way she sings them. She has a style that hasn’t been compromised by any commercial aspirations. She let me have some fun with the production - I played the bass and drums as well as most of the guitars (other than her own performance on “Box of Roses”). I’d like everyone to take a listen, even buy a track or two, and then seek her out if you hear she’s performing somewhere nearby. Check it out ![]()
I just got back from a long but very gratifying day of working for humanity. I was part of the house band (Michael Rhodes, Eddie Bayers, Kenny Greenberg, Shane Keister, Dan Dugmore and myself) that helped put on the Nashville4Africa show at the Schermerhorn Symphony Hall tonight. Big Kenny Alfin (of Big & Rich) hosted the evening with Damian Horne to help raise awareness and money for the building of schools in Africa. The stars of the show were the African Children’s Choir, a group of children that are truly talented, have survived some of life’s toughest challenges, and are selected to become part of this touring group. I was totally impressed with these kids, and now understand what others have seen in this philanthropic endeavor - people like Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley - and others that I was privileged to be on the stage with tonight. We filled up the hall, and as I looked out over that beautiful room full of Nashvillians who were involved in making this planet a better place I got a very good feeling about what’s happening in our community.
